According to the Washington Post, two adoptive parents will murdered in their sleep, with a safe and othe items stolen. While tragic and disturbing, those facts do little to distinguish the crime. What brings this particular story into the realm of new and frightening is the fact that the 6-8 suspects involved spent over a month planning and practicing, and even executed that attack dressed in "ninja" clothing. The fact that a couple known for adopting and caring for over a dozen children with autism and other disorders could be the target an organized, planned, and well-executed attack by a team of murderers makes you wonder. If it could happen to them, why not anyone else?
Makes me feel all warm and safe inside.
Not.

Hmmm
Just read an interesting little article. Stefan Fredrick Cook, a major in the U.S. Army reserve, asked for (and recieved!) a revocation of his deployment orders to Afganistan. His reason? President Obama isn't the legal president, because he wasen't born in the U.S. Now, his request isn't nearly so suprising to me as the fact that HE GOT IT!! Obama's status as a "natural born citzen" as been in question, pretty much from day one, since he would be uneligable if he was not. Now, instead of upholding their orders, the government has, one one hand, admitted the possiblity, and on the other, continued to support Obama.
Doublespeak, anyone?
